Learn About Radioactive Minerals

Please join the Rockford rock club, Rock River Valley Gem and Mineral Society, for this exciting talk on RADIOACTIVE MINERALS.
June 6, 10 a.m. Special Talk at Odd Fellows Lodge, 6219 Forest Hills Rd., Rockford, IL- Our club is honoring the memory of Norine Malhburg with a special presentation on the colorful and controversial history of radioactive minerals. The speaker, Tyrel Rouse of Madison, has had a lifelong curiosity with these minerals, which later became a collecting hobby where he traveled throughout the US, but especially in the Western US. Tyrel will share his research, travels, and the minerals themselves in this lively presentation.
Note: The Odd Fellows Lodge is located 1/4 mile south of Riverside Boulevard on the east side of Forest Hills Road.

Southeastern Michigan Gem and Mineral Show CANCELLED

Please be advised that the 2015 Southeastern Michigan Gem and Mineral Show hosted by the Midwest Mineralogical & Lapidary Society scheduled for May 15th, 16th, and 17th, 2015 has been CANCELLED!
The Show was to be held at the Southgate Arena, 14700 Reaume Parkway, Southgate, Michigan. We have heard there are clubs advertising that our Show was being held but that is incorrect. We cancelled the Show back in November. It was posted on our website for months but somehow has been overlooked by clubs.
There will be no Show in 2015 but we are trying to regroup.
